If you think you are not ready yet or don’t have time for longer treks, Mardi himal trek is a perfect escape that cobbles an interesting trek from the longer treks in the Annapurna. This trek is a hidden treasure in the shadows of famed Annapurna base camp trek, Annapurna circuit trek and Ghorepani poon hill trek. This destination immediately emerged after the recent idea of short trekking in Nepal, especially for travelers with limited time and since then it has been gaining its popularity.
In short period of time, on the trails of Mardi Himal trek you will realize that travel can be the most rewarding form of self realization. Hiking through the villages of indigenous communities, eating two course meals of staple Daal Bhat and walking through the trails embracing wild flowers and Rhododendron is simply spectacular. Living in the community owned tea houses and having a first hand experience of culture, along with never leaving massif of Annapurna at the backstage, is a life altering adventurous trek that you would never ever come across in life.
Mardi himal trek may be short in time but not short in elements. This trek is not overwhelmed and the reason behind it is basic tea house lodges and guest house which in a way is very natural and unpolished.

On this first day we transfer you to your hotel/hostel. You will not do much except observing the ambiance around you and get acquainted with the country. Meal Plan N/A
This is an important day because today is the day when you will meet with your guide. The guide or one of our team members will brief you about the trek about more or less everything you need to know. After briefing we would thoroughly go through the trekking gear that we have. Furthermore, if there is anything that is not according to the trekking standard we will do last minute shopping of the trekking gears. On the other hand one of our backend office staff will get busy preparing required permits and logistics. Meal plan - N/A
On this day we have our breakfast by 6:00 a.m. in the morning and head towards tourist Bus Park at Thamel and board a tourist bus to Pokhara. The bus ride will take around 7 hours through curvy roads of hilly terrain with couple of breaks in between for snacks and lunch. The drive to Pokhara on one of the major highways is exhilarating with beautiful views of never leaving tributaries, lush green hills and road side settlements.Meal plan B.
Another day on road, we drive to one of the hill stations on the outskirts of Pokhara known as Kande. Kande is spectacular viewpoint for the mountains in the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri but on clear day. From Kande we take our bags and begin trekking towards Pothana and further to Pitam Deurali through beautiful small villages. The first hour of walk on stone slated trail takes us to Australian base camp. On a clear day Australian base camp offers a beautiful views of Himalayas in Annapurna. From Australian basecamp we again enter dense forest. The trail somehow gets more gradual and easier. We walk some easy ups and down on beautiful trails tucked in Rhododendron, maple, pine and hemlock forest until we reach Forest camp and further to Deurali. Overnight in Deurali. Meal plan B,L,D.
If the weather is clear we wake up with splendid views of Annapurna south and Machhapuchhre. From the open hilltop of Deurali the trails run into the deeper section of forest, higher we go better we are surrounded with Rhododendrons of every hue. The Himalayas get closer and the view of Machhapuchhre 6990m is profound. The entire day is spent on serene trails with handful of tea houses that cater hot meal and clean beds. We spend the day in low camp and enjoy the surreal natural presence. Meal plan B,L,D.
After completion of breakfast we get our legs on the trail. We walk on the highland pasture and out of the dense forest, except for the rare occasions when we come across patches of Rhododendron forest and moreover soaring views of the mountains. This portion of the Mardi Himal trek is famous for spotting of Impeyan pheasant; the national bird of Nepal. We call it a day in Low camp and enjoy the surrounding vista. Teahouses in low camp may not have enough rooms to cater trekkers in season which may result in more natural form of accommodation under the tents. Meal Plan B,L,D.
On this day we plan to watch sunrise over the mountains. High Camp is a grassy knoll and a viewpoint for the mountains in the surrounding. Furthermore, we trek to upper viewpoint known as the Mardi himal base camp. The trail is not very demanding but an additional care is required to avoid haphazard on sheer and strenuous sections. On summer days the viewpoint is a beautiful grassy land with sheep and yaks grazing on the pasture. As we start very early to make it to sunrise, we return back to the teahouse in high camp to have our breakfast. In snowy conditions it is difficult to reach the base camp because of snow piled on the ridge. Overnight in High camp. Meal plan B,L,D.
We trace the same trail back until low camp from where the trail separates. This day is completely dedicated for downhill trail and we descend for around 6 - 7 hours. The view towards the north and the south is immediately obstructed by dense forest. There are no settlements beyond Low camp and until Siding. Overnight in Siding. Meal plan B,L,D.
This is the last day on trail and before we reach to a point from where we catch our vehicle back to Pokhara we still walk for around 4 hours. We walk on off road track and downhill until Lumre. Unlike the previous day we see plenty of settlements and farming fields of locals. Once we reach Lumre we board our bus for 2 hours drive to Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara. Meal plan B,L.
