Annapurna Sanctuary still remains ageless despite the influx of trekkers in the region. The diversion of majority of trekkers in the Annapurna base camp trail has left this trek still to its original state. This trek is fabulous and offers magnificent views, without having to strenuously climb high altitudes. En route you will be awestruck by the hospitality of generous Gurung communities, soothing hot springs, gushing tributaries, and lush green hills.
Annapurna Sanctuary trek lies immediately south of the greater Himalayan trail and hence has a subtropical climate. This trek is relatively a short trek but in a very short time it traverses variety of terrains – it takes you from the rice paddy fields to the glacial moraine. In case of few additional days on hand this trek can be weaved with few other interesting treks like Poon hill and Khopra ridge.
The views are magnificent and the mountains appear up close. Furthermore, Annapurna, Fishtail and few other mountains in the region set the center stage. Seasonal blossoms of Rhododendron and few other species, along with the beautiful birds singing and langur monkeys playing on its own make Annapurna sanctuary trek a photographer’s heaven. Not to forget, it has been all time favorite of our guests because the trails do not take much effort, except for the initial days of climb.
