A short ride of around 2 hours would take us to put in point of the trek. Once off the vehicle we get our permits checked and head towards the destination of the day. Although it is not the toughest section of the trek it might feel tough on your legs as it is the first day. We embark on beautifully stone slated trail all the way to Ghandruk. It takes 4 hours to reach this exemplary village of stone work. Overnight in Ghandruk. Meal plan B, L, D.
There are several options available from Ghandruk to Chomrong and the most popular routes are of Landruk and Kimrong. We could take any trail to the north but we would take Kimrong so that on our way back we can visit hot water spring that lies in the Kot danda route. On the way you will see dramatic views of Annapurna south and Machhapuchhre. The most significant portion of the trail is the 45 minute steep downhill from Kot Danda to Kimrong. Overnight in Chomrong. Meal plan B, L, D.
Except for couple of steep ascend and descend the trail is not very demanding. On this day we make our way through small streams, suspension bridges and small patches of villages. This section Annapurna Base Camp trek is well known for witnessing of wild animals as well. The bamboo forest immediately after Chomrong and the dense forest of Rhododendron and patches of wild orchids beyond Dobhan is impressive. Overnight in Himalaya. Meal plan B, L, D.
We start the day by hiking a pleasant ascend, making our way through streams and falls until a steep ascend to Hinku and further small but steep hike to Deurali. After Deurali the trail is more relaxed but undergoes one of the most adventurous section being it prone to avalanche. There are no permanent settlement in this section of the trail but the views of mountains in the Annapurna are jaw dropping. On this day we start to feel the effect of altitude and this day can be also taken as acclimatization day. Meal plan B, L, D.
We trek on the trail in between Hiunchuli and the glacier of the mountains in the area. We trek for around 4 hours to the maximum. We call it a day at Annapurna base camp and relax in the serene ambiance, on the laps of Himalayas. This trek although is not strenuous is considered to be slightly technical because of altitude as well as snowy condition in the winter. Meal plan B, L, D.
We trace our way back on the same trail on our way up. From ABC first head to MBC followed by Deurali, Himalaya, Dovan and finally Bamboo. We descend for almost 7 hours until we reach Bamboo. After a long day on trails we rest at a teahouse in Bamboo.
Most of today’s walk is on flat trails with gentle up’s and down’s except for one final steep climb for half an hour to Chomrong. We have possibility of enjoying the natural hot springs and rejuvenating for the rest of our journey. Overnight in Landruk. Meal plan B,L,D.
From Jhinu Danda the trail gets gradual and easier, ascend and descend is very effortless compared to the trekking we have accomplished. We make our way through rustic bridges, patch of villages and jeep tracks. We finally checkout from ACAP at Birethati and walk around 15 minutes to Nayapul At Nayapul we board our vehicle and drive an hour back to Pokhara. By the time we reach Pokhara it is around 5.
